Reading this recent post by Waiter brought some things into sharp relief. The biggest thing that has been gnawing at me lately is the fact that I'm in a relationship that, as it appears to me, is devoid of love. What's even worse is that I'm sure my partner feels the same way (and has said so in so many words). So we're both guilty and deserving of what we're getting.

Well...no, we don't deserve it. It is just a consequence of our actions--or inactions. We're not to blame, in so much. But we're responsible for our situation. I don't think we can ever get back what we once had. I just hope she can find what she's looking for, because she DOES deserve it.

And so do I.
